Arizona State University’s Graphic Information Technology program hosted its first ever Creative Affair on April 29th. This bi-annual event was created to honor graduating seniors and to celebrate students’ accomplishments.

The evening began with a reception in the GIT faculty hall where student work was on display. Shortly after, attendees moved into an auditorium where awards were presented. Awards were given in categories such as Premier Web Designer, Game Art & Animation, Imaging, Print and Outstanding Graduates. Less serious awards were presented to lighten the mood in categories such as Zaniest Student, Mr. Fix-It, Wonder Woman, Mr. Calm (won by yours truly) and Person-you-most-want-to-be-with-in-a-brawl, which was given to GIT student and third degree black belt Alex Pozon.

The evening concluded with the premier of GIT student Ben Etzioni’s senior project Revenge of Siri. The film was shot with assistance from GIT graduate student Tessa Menken on location at ASU’s Polytechnic campus over the winter holiday. A cast of GIT students and faculty starred in the film. Menken used Premiere Pro CC for editing, while Etzioni used After Effects CC to for special effects.

Attendees were entered into a raffle to win Adobe prizes like backpacks and t-shirts. Four lucky students won 1-year subscriptions to the Adobe Creative Cloud. The next GIT Creative Affair is planned for December.
